One of the happiest sounds on earth once emanated from the rear of Mercado World Foods, a small shop on 29N, where an abuela would slap fresh dough into pupusas. Though Mercado World Foods is long closed, that same happy sound can now be heard at Pupuceria, a food truck on 29N. Slow food is good food, so be prepared to wait as the dough for your made-to-order pupusa is slapped into a disc and cooked on a griddle. Served with the classic curtido – a tangy slaw that complements the richness of the melted cheese inside. Worth the wait, they rival the ones from Mercado World Foods, which is high praise.
