Duner’s Auction
by Charlottesville29
Here is your chance to experience Duner’s like you have never experienced it before, while helping to feed the area’s hungry. It’s The Charlottesville 29 Restaurant Auctions, presented by McGuireWoods. Along with all of the other restaurants in The Charlottesville 29, Duner’s has created a signature experience available to whoever pledges the highest donation to The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. Thanks to the generosity of Duner’s, the winning bid goes directly to the food bank, and each dollar donated is enough to provide four meals to the area’s hungry. So, a winning bid of, say, $1,500 means not just a wonderful meal for the winner and their guests, but also 6,000 more meals for the area’s hungry.
The Duner’s signature experience for The Charlottesville 29 Restaurant Auction:
Duner’s to Yourself
For decades, Duner’s has been one of Charlottesville’s most beloved restaurants. As regulars know all-to-well, Duner’s popularity and no-reservations policy can sometimes conspire to cause a wait for a table. The Duner’s auction winner will not have to wait at all though, as the winner and seven guests will have the entire restaurant to themselves.
Longtime chef Doug McLeod will prepare a five course Italian-themed meal, drawing on the area’s best local produce. “I’ve always liked the Italian approach to the multiple course dinner with each course being paired with a different wine,” says McLeod, who has done stages in many fine Italian restaurants, and considers it the cuisine he knows best. Next, pastry chef Linda Steiner, one of the area’s finest, will prepare a special dessert medley. All the while, Duner’s owner Bob Caldwell will be on hand to pair each course with special wines and apertifs.
No crowds. No noise. No wait. Enjoy the ultimate Duner’s experience. Duner’s to Yourself.
Note: The winner will schedule the dinner with Duner’s on a mutually convenient Tuesday.
