Beer Run Auction
by Charlottesville29
Here is your chance to experience Beer Run like you never have experienced it before, while helping to feed the area’s hungry. It’s The Charlottesville 29 Restaurant Auctions, presented by McGuireWoods. Along with all of the other restaurants in The Charlottesville 29, Beer Run has created a signature experience available to whoever pledges the highest donation to The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. Thanks to the generosity of Beer Run and The Rock Barn, the winning bid goes directly to the food bank, and each dollar donated is enough to provide four meals to the area’s hungry. So, a winning bid of, say, $2,000 would mean not just a wonderful meal for the winner and their guests, but also 8,000 more meals for the area’s hungry.
The Beer Run signature experience for The Charlottesville 29 Restaurant Auctions:
The Ultimate Sausage Fest and Beer Class
There are few better combinations than sausage and beer. Beer Run is famous for theirs, with the town’s best beer selection to go with bratwurst by The Rock Barn, the world class pork producer led by chef Ben Thompson. The auction winner and eleven of their guests will enjoy the ultimate in beer and sausage. First, they will enjoy a beer class from two experts. One is Beer Run co-owner and former UVa beer class teacher Josh Hunt. The other is Hunter Smith, owner of Champion Brewing Company, one of the area’s most acclaimed breweries. Together they will walk guests through a variety of styles of beer, including tastings of many rare and highly-rated ales, and even some from the the cellars of Smith and Hunt. As for food, the evening will begin with an over-the-top platter of charcuterie from The Rock Barn, followed by an array of Rock Barn sausages, which Smith and Thompson will pair with select beers. All the while, guests will enjoy a playlist of their favorite music. The Ultimate Sausage Fest and Beer Class.
Note: The winner will schedule the event at a mutually convenient time for Beer Run, Smith, and Hunt.
