The Charlottesville 29 Artisan Auctions

In support of the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, The Charlottesville 29 is pleased to present The 2019 Charlottesville 29 Artisan Auctions. On August 20, Prime 109 will host a Celebration of Charlottesville’s Restaurants’ generosity in The 2019 Charlottesville 29 Restaurant Auctions, featuring a food court of the area’s best artisans.

Like the restaurants, artisans of the food court are also creating once-in-a-lifetime experiences to auction off to whomever pledges the largest donation to the food bank.  Thanks to the generation of the artisans, every dollar of winning bids goes directly to the food bank. And, thanks to the efficiency of the food bank, each dollar is enough to create four meals for the area’s hungry.

These meals will come at a critical time. One out of every eleven people in our region struggles to put food on the table, which can have lasting consequences for those in need. No one does more do fight this crisis than the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. Now you can join the food bank and our area’s food artisans in feeding those in need.

Even if you do not bid, you can still help the cause in appreciation of restaurants’ and artisans’ efforts. Donate here, and indicate that your donation is in honor of The Charlottesville 29 auctions.

Links to auction descriptions are below. Online bidding is now underway. Bidding will end August 20 at Prime 109. Group bidding is welcome.

The Keevil & Keevil signature experience for The Charlottesville 29 Restaurant Auctions:

Two Fantastical Feasts

Chef-owner of the much-missed Brookville, Harrison Keevil is one of the most creative chefs in town. For the auction winner, Keevil plans to let loose with two of the most ambitious meals he has ever made. Not once but twice, he will come to the auction winner’s home to prepare fantastical feasts inspired by two of the most food-obsessed periods in British history: Tudor and Victorian.

Keevil says that these eras revolutionized the way people eat, with impacts still felt today, and his meals will celebrate each. Fun and whimsical, the dinners will be not just delicious but also thought-provoking, drawing on traditional and modern cooking techniques to yield dishes that will surprise guests’ taste buds, and might not always be what meets the eye.

The auction winner will provide their own beverage pairings, and to facilitate the pairings, Keevil will give advance notice of primary flavors featured in each feast. The full menus, however, will remain a surprise until the moment guests enjoy them.

It’s the ultimate Keevil & Keevil experience: Two Fantastical Feasts.
