Brookville Auction
by Charlottesville29
Here is your chance to experience Brookville like you never have experienced it before, while helping to feed the area’s hungry. It’s The Charlottesville 29 Restaurant Auctions, presented by McGuireWoods. Along with all of the other restaurants in The Charlottesville 29, Brookville has created a signature experience available to whoever pledges the highest donation to The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. Brookville is generously donating the entire experience, which means the winning bid goes directly to the food bank. Each dollar donated is enough to provide four meals to the area’s hungry. So, a winning bid of, say, $1,500 would mean not just a wonderful meal for the winner and their guests, but also 6,000 more meals for the area’s hungry.
The Brookville signature experience for The Charlottesville 29 Restaurant Auctions:
The Dinner That Inspired Harrison to Be a Chef
Brookville chef and co-owner Harrison Keevil still remembers the moment he first knew he wanted to be a chef. It was September 8, 2005, during his parents’ anniversary dinner at Petrus, the Michelin-starred restaurant that was then in London’s Berkeley Hotel, under chef Marcus Wareing. “It blew my mind,” says Keevil. He still has a copy of the tasting menu they enjoyed that night, and will recreate all eight courses of it for the auction winner and seven guests. Using primarily Virginia meats and produce, Keevil will also bring in some of the best luxury ingredients from outside Virginia. In addition, says Keevil, “each course will be paired with the best Virginia wine that is available.” Enjoy the dinner that was so spectacular it inspired Harrison Keevil to become a chef.
Note: The winner will schedule the event with Brookville on a mutually convenient Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
