Sultan Kebab Auction: Ziyafet for 50

Here is your chance to experience Sultan Kebab like you never have before, while helping to feed the area’s hungry: The Charlottesville 29 Restaurant Auctions. Along with all of the other restaurants in The Charlottesville 29, Sultan Kebab has created a once-in-a-lifetime experience for whoever pledges the highest donation to The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. Thanks to the generosity of Sultan Kebab, Blenheim Vineyards, and Potter’s Craft Cider, the entire winning bid goes directly to the food bank. And, thanks to the efficiency of the food bank, each dollar donated creates four meals for the area’s hungry.

The Sultan Kebab signature experience for The Charlottesville 29 Restaurant Auctions:

Ziyafet for 50 

The best way to enjoy Turkish cuisine is a ziyafet: a massive Turkish feast. The winner of  the Sultan Kebab auction will enjoy a feast for up to fifty guests in their own home, with plenty of mezze, kebabs, and other Turkish delights. The winner may select their own dishes, or leave it to Sultan Kebab to create the feast, including even some traditional off-menu Turkish dishes chosen by owners Deniz Dikmen and Serhat Peker.

To accompany the feast will be contributions from two of our area’s favorite producers of adult beverages. Blenheim Vineyards will provide two cases of wine (24 bottles), paired with the feast by winemaker Kirsty Harmon. And, Potter’s Craft Cider will provide two cases of cider (24 bottles), paired with the feast by Potter’s cider makers.

It’s the ultimate Sultan Kebab dining experience: a Ziyafet for 50.

A Walk Through Spain in 29 Bites

In its fifteen-plus years as one of Charlottesville’s favorite restaurants, MAS has hosted some epic meals. Yet, never one quite like this. The auction winner and five guests will sit at the bar along the kitchen and enjoy a 29 course tasting menu – a dazzling array of bite-sized creations by chef Mike Ketola. While the menu will depend on the season, Ketola will spare no expense in the ingredients, from truffles, to caviar, to Jamon Iberico – his very best interpretations of a culinary walk through Spain. Perched beside the kitchen, guests will have the chance to discuss the food with Ketola, as they enjoy it. Only the most special wines would be appropriate for a meal like this, and Ketola and GM Benos Bustamante will pair the food with the best of the best.

Celebration Dinner for 30

Have a special occasion to celebrate? There’s no better place to celebrate than C&O, which has been the heart of Charlottesville fine dining for more than four decades. The auction winner will enjoy a private dinner in C&O’s upstairs dining room for up to 30 guests. The experience will include a customized menu, designed by chef-owner Dean Maupin, as well as full bar and wine service.
