Lager For Gold is Högwaller Brewing‘s tribute to Todd DeSorbo, the UVA Swimming and Diving coach who next month leads the United States Women’s Swimming Team’s pursuit of gold at the Olympics. Six of DeSorbo’s UVA swimmers and commits have qualified for the American team to join him.

Technically a lager because of the use of lager yeast, Lager For Gold is so loaded with hops that it almost drinks like an IPA, says brewer Mark Fulton. A quartet of hops – Elani, Centennial, Hallertau Blanc, and Cascade – bursts with citrus aromas. “I think this is a pretty fantastic beer, and I hope Todd does too,” said Fulton.
