Rose’s Luxury is Coming to Albemarle County: Local takeout service from the Michelin-starred D.C. restaurant
by Charlottesville29

Among the many silver linings in the cloud of COVID-19, this may be among the most surprising. Rose’s Luxury is offering takeout in Albemarle County. Rose’s at Home, a catering offshoot of the D.C. restaurant once named best new restaurant in the country, provides COVID-friendly pick-up and delivery in the D.C. metropolitan area. Now, the service is scheduling pick-up dates at more distant locations like New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Albemarle County.
In response to the havoc of COVID-19, restaurants have needed to get creative just to survive. In Rose’s Luxury’s case, the restaurant renowned for its hospitality was well-positioned for the pandemic’s Culture of Takeout. “Funny enough, this was something we did for a handful of guests before COVID-19,” said founder Aaron Silverman, who in 2016 won the James Beard award for Best Chef in the Mid-Atlantic. “We had just launched our catering company a couple months prior.”
Why the Charlottesville area? “It’s a great food city,” said GM Eric Jeffay, “with former guests of Rose’s Luxury who wanted us to come to them.” Our region’s first pick-up date is Saturday, November 14 at Starr Hill Crozet Brewery & Taproom, which will offer beers to go with the food. Order in advance here and choose your pick-up time. Each order comes with two nights’ worth of dinners.
The two dinners for the November 14 pick-up:
Oktoberfest
Pretzel roll with beer cheese
Bratwurst with braised cabbage, potatoes, and mustard
Apple & cranberry strudel
Rose’s Classics
Brussels Sprouts Caesar with apples
Smoked brisket with slaw, horseradish, and white bread
Innkeepers Pie with maple walnuts
