Zocalo Auction: Legends’ Dinner for Ten with Jefferson Vineyards
Here is your chance to experience Zocalo like you never have before, while helping to feed the area’s hungry: The Charlottesville 29 Restaurant Auctions. Along with all of the other restaurants in The Charlottesville 29, Zocalo has created a once-in-a-lifetime experience for whoever pledges the highest donation to The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. Thanks to the generosity of Zocalo and Jefferson Vineyards, the entire winning bid goes directly to the food bank. And, thanks to the efficiency of the food bank, each dollar donated creates four meals for the area’s hungry.

Legends’ Dinner for Ten with Jefferson Vineyards
Two local legends join for one epic night.
While Zocalo has long been known for consistent execution of a steady menu of crowd favorites, chef-owner Ivan Rekosh will let loose for one night. The auction winner and nine guests will enjoy a six-course over-the-top feast, designed and prepared by Rekosh himself, featuring unique dishes created just for the evening.
What warrants the occasion? Extraordinary, Reserve wines, not typically available to the public, from one of the pioneers of Virginia wine, Jefferson Vineyards. A special focus will be two grapes that Jefferson Vineyards considers the heroes of Virginia wine: Petit Verdot and Viognier. “Jefferson’s Own Estate Reserve,” for example, is a 2016 Petit Verdot made in homage to Thomas Jefferson. Another is Jefferson Vineyards’ first ever skin fermented Viognier, which has won raves from wine critics. Rekosh and Jefferson Vineyards winemaker Chris Ritzcovan will work together on a menu to pair with these and other special Jefferson Vineyards wines. And, they will visit with guests during dinner to discuss the food, wine, and pairings.
