Peter Chang Auction: The Ultimate Szechuan Corkage Dinner for 10
Here is your chance to experience Peter Chang like you never have before, while helping to feed the area’s hungry: The Charlottesville 29 Restaurant Auctions. Along with all of the other restaurants in The Charlottesville 29, Peter Chang has created a once-in-a-lifetime experience for whoever pledges the highest donation to The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. Thanks to the generosity of Peter Chang and In Vino Veritas, the entire winning bid goes directly to the food bank. And, thanks to the efficiency of the food bank, each dollar donated creates four meals for the area’s hungry.
The Peter Chang signature experience for The Charlottesville 29 Restaurant Auctions:
The Ultimate Szechuan Corkage Dinner for Ten
Renowned wine critic Robert Parker is known for his fondness of Szechuan corkage wine dinners, where he and a group of friends bring some of their favorite wines to a top Chinese restaurant to accompany a true Szechuan feast. The winner of the Peter Chang’s auction will enjoy the ultimate paradigm of such a meal, prepared by someone who many have called the nation’s best Szechuan chef. Peter Chang will cook eight courses of his favorite home-style dishes, served family style to the auction winner and nine guests. Chang will even come out to greet guests and (through a translator) describe the dishes and their preparation.
As for the wine, that will be in the hands of one of our area’s top oenophiles, Erin Scala of In Vino Veritas, once named one of Wine Enthusiast’s 40 Under 40 wine professionals. Scala will receive an advance copy of the feast’s menu, and will send the group to dinner with two bottles each of eight different wines, each one expertly paired with one of the courses. That’s eight courses of Peter Chang’s food and sixteen bottles of showstopping wine. The ultimate Szechuan corkage dinner.

Note: The auction winner will schedule the dinner on a night that is mutually convenient for the restaurant, and when Peter Chang is present at the Charlottesville restaurant.
