The Charlottesville 29

If there were just 29 restaurants in Charlottesville, what would be the ideal 29?

Auction for Junction Preview Dinner Tickets

Junction

It took just four minutes for tickets to sell out for the preview dinner of Junction, the most anticipated restaurant of the year, set to open this summer. But, you can still attend, and all you need to do is pledge the largest donation to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. The dinner is March 15 at The Local. Junction’s chef, Melissa Close-Hart, a four time James Beard award semi-finalist, will compete against her husband Matthew Hart, chef of The Local, in a course-by-course showdown, paired with cocktails.  Charlottesville legend Craig Hartman will be on hand to emcee.

As cold weather sets in, the needs of the area’s hungry become more acute.  Make a generous donation to help feed the area’s hungry this winter, and be rewarded with two seats at this exclusive preview dinner.  Because of the food bank’s remarkable efficiency, each dollar contributed provides four meals for the area’s hungry.  So, a bid of, say, $500 would mean 2,000 meals for the hungry.

Bidding for the two ticket package opens at $150, starts immediately, and closes on Thursday, February 18 at 5 pm, eastern time.  You can place a bid on The Charlottesville 29’s Facebook page, or you can email your bid to charlottesville29@gmail.com, subject line Junction.  Regular updates of the auction leader will be posted on Facebook, and the winner will be announced Friday, February 19.  Good luck, and thank you in advance for your generosity from The Charlottesville 29.
