Here is your chance to experience BBQ Exchange like you never have before, while helping to feed the area’s hungry: The Charlottesville 29 Restaurant Auctions. BBQ Exchange has created a once-in-a-lifetime experience for whoever pledges the highest donation to The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. Thanks to the generosity of Craig and Donna Hartman, and their team at BBQ Exchange, and Brewing Tree Beer Company, the entire winning bid goes directly to the food bank. And, thanks to the efficiency of the food bank, each dollar donated creates four meals for the area’s hungry.
The BBQ Exchange signature experience for The Charlottesville 29 Restaurant Auctions:
Virginia Pig Roast for 50
No one loves pig more than Craig Hartman, the Charlottesville Mt. Rushmore Chef of BBQ Exchange. And no one is better at raising pigs than Autumn Olive Farms, the award-winning farm beloved by top chefs and others.
For the auction winner and up to 49 guests, BBQ Exchange will roast an entire Berkabaw Pig – the Autumn Olive Farms crossbreed of English Berkshire and Ossabaw Island, which some call the “perfect pig.” Hartman and his team will roast the pig on a spit over green hickory embers. Plus, BBQ Exchange is beloved for its sides, and, to accompany the pig, the group will enjoy an over-the-top spread of sides and fixings worthy of a world class chef. Any leftovers, BBQ Exchange will box up for the auction winner to take home.
The pig roast will be held onsite at Brewing Tree Beer Company, the beautiful Afton nano-brewery launched last year by Starr Hill Brewery co-founder Mark Thompson. To wash down the food, the auction winner”s group may enjoy all the Brewing Tree beer they’d like.
It’s the ultimate BBQ Exchange experience: Virginia Pig Roast for 50.
Note: The auction winner will schedule the pig roast at a time that is mutually convenient for BBQ Exchange and Brewing Tree Beer Company.
