The Charlottesville 29

If there were just 29 restaurants in Charlottesville, what would be the ideal 29?

Timbercreek Market Farm-to-Table Dinners

Creek

One of Charlottesville’s rising culinary stars, Allie Redshaw is the woman behind the outstanding sandwiches and prepared items at Timbercreek Market. (You really need to try her octopus salad.) But, a chef at heart, she thrives most when she gets to let loose in the kitchen on a multi-course dinner. If you want to see for yourself, check out Timbercreek Market’s recently announced series of Farm-to-Table Dinners this summer — multi-course meals featuring Redshaw’s creations from farm-sourced ingredients. Each dinner also includes a cheese course from award-winning cheesemonger Nadjeeb Chouaf of Flora Artisanal Cheese. Seating is understandably limited for the dinners.  Details and reservations here.

Oakhart Social Auction

Oakhart

Here is your chance to experience Oakhart Social like you never have experienced it before, while helping to feed the area’s hungry. It’s The Charlottesville 29 Restaurant Auctions, presented by McGuireWoods. Along with all of the other restaurants in The Charlottesville 29, Oakhart Social has created a signature experience available to whoever pledges the highest donation to The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. Thanks to the generosity of Oakhart Social, the winning bid goes directly to the food bank, and each dollar donated is enough to provide four meals to the area’s hungry. So, a winning bid of, say, $2,000 would mean not just a wonderful meal for the winner and their guests, but also 8,000 more meals for the area’s hungry.

The Oakhart Social signature experience for The Charlottesville 29 Restaurant Auctions:

Over-the-Top Brunch Party for Twelve

The auction winner and eleven guests will have the entire restaurant to themselves for a brunch party to remember. Chef Tristan Wraight will prepare a six-course feast of some of his favorite dishes, paired with wine and cocktails by expert mixologist Albee Pedone. Wraight will also visit with guests to discuss the dishes and their preparation. “The idea,” says co-owner Ben Clore, “is to offer an incredible brunch in the form of a tasting menu, with custom pairings from Albee, featuring all of the great local stuff we can get our hands on.” Throughout brunch, guests will even enjoy a playlist of their favorite music. It’s an over-the-top brunch party at Oakhart Social.

Note: The winner will schedule the brunch with Oakhart Social on a mutually convenient Sunday.
